CSRD Senior Sustainability Consultant

The role

You'll be deeply involved in diagnosing and assessing a company's sustainability efforts, implementing meaningful changes to drive sustainability forward. Your expertise will span across various pillars of sustainability, including environmental consciousness, ethical practices, labor standards, and sustainable procurement. Utilizing assessment methodologies such as EcoVadis and B Corp, along with adhering to reporting standards like UNGC, GRI, and CDP, you'll be instrumental in effecting tangible progress.

As a Senior Consultant, you will have an active role in every aspect of the organization. In your role, you will need to expertly manage your own projects, supervise direct reports, and skillfully coordinate individual team members on a project-to-project basis. Your journey with Nexio Projects will see you collaborating with both large corporations and SMEs, guiding them through the complexities of sustainability certificates, ratings, and establishing robust sustainability management systems and reporting processes. Your Skills and Experience:     

  • 5+ years of work experience in an audit and/or ESG reporting environment (preferably CSRD / NFRD reporting);
  • Knowledge of CSRD and Double Materiality, as well as other sustainability reporting and assurance standards;
  • Fluent in English (and preferably Dutch / French);
  • Professional qualification in accounting (like Chartered Accountancy or CPA) or University degree, ideally at Master's level or higher, in accounting
  • Experience with ESG data management or ESG control
  • Growth mindset with strong experience and interest in scaling service offerings and solutions;   
  • Advanced project management skills with experience of handling multiple complex and high-stake projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and working knowledge of ERP systems (like SAP)
  • Strong presentation skills and able to deliver engaging, clear and structured content to wider audiences in consultancy context, from C-suite to operational staff
  • Proactive communicator with strong interpersonal skills – making complex ideas accessible and editing others' writing to ensure clarity 
  • Manage customer relations and provide excellent customer support 
  • Action-oriented attitude, impact-driven and strong multitasking skills 
  • Previous Team Management experience 

  

What You Deliver:

  • Undertaking Double Materiality Assessment and CSRD gap analysis with respect to KPIs, processes, policies, governance structure etc
  • Advising clients on CSRD implementation, including defining internal control frameworks & data management processes, creating reporting manuals and supporting the alignment with the external auditors of the client;
  • Independently handling high-impact CSRD and other sustainability projects with minimum supervision from Practice and Team Leads
  • Advising on all pillars of ESG across for solutions across maturity curve like ESG ratings, reporting, strategy transformation, peer benchmarking, B Corp etc.
  • Contributing to the internal company knowledge database on technical positions, methodologies and relevant updates
  • Mentoring and coaching team members on CSRD related projects
  • Keep track of and supports the workload and tasks of the team aligned with all expectations and project objectives 
  • Leading task forces and showcasing innovative thinking & implementation of the growing service portfolio of Nexio Projects 
  • Instigate input and review from peers and experts
  • Perform quality control on deliverables from team members when acting as the Project Owner 
  • Proactively resolve routine issues with established precedents and handle escalations from more junior project owners
  • Generates innovative and creative solutions both on client work and research projects
  • Apply project standards to non-billable work 
  • Deliver clear and professional communication with colleagues and clients – verbal, written and through presentations 
  • Showcase best practice in engaging and building relationships with clients

  • Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands.  
  • Other: Presence is required in the Rotterdam office (3 days a week, mandatory work from the office and 2 days' work from home policy).
